KidSport™ Calgary

Young Champions Memorial Fund

The Young Champions Memorial Fund was designed to assist athletes in need to fulfill their dreams of sport. The fund gives priority to children aged 12-16 interested in skiing, snowboarding or golf. Qualified applicants are chosen at various times throughout the year by a KidSport™ committee made up of the friends and families of those who the fund honors. For more information on how you can donate to the Young Champs Memorial Fund and honor someone through the legacy of sport; please call the KidSport™ Calgary office at 403.202.0251.

Please see below to learn more about the remarkable people this legacy fund honors.

Thomas (TJ) Siebert
1984-2002

TJ was a spirited and selfless athlete, dedicated to helping other learns. Family and friends say “TJ was always there for the experience – not the competition. Because of his confidence in sports, he always held his own against older, more senior athletes. As a dedicated teammate, TJ was the one to make you smile, and the first to make sure that everyone was entertained.”

TJ’s family and friends are carrying on his legacy through KidSport™ so more children can share the same experiences that helped shape his passionate and exceptional way of living.

Joshua (Josh) Matthew Palmer
1984-2002

“I can see Josh intercepting the last pass of the Grey Cup and return it for the win. He always worked hard at everything he did. Sometimes you’d thinking he was crazy for trying so hard, but every day that you would see him, he’d leave a smile on your face. Josh, thanks for having been my best friend, for always being the best man … for always just being Josh….”  wrote good friend, Shaun.

Josh’s family and friends are carrying on his legacy through KidSport™ so more children get the chance to try the things that gave Josh the skills and experiences that helped him become the special and warm person who lit up other’s lives.
