KidSport Fort Saskatchewan Profile- April 2010

KidSport Fort Saskatchewan at the 2009 Legacy Park Family Festival

KidSport Fort Saskatchewan enjoyed another successful year by providing funding to 78 local youth in 13 different sporting activities. The local committee also initiated a number of exciting fundraising and awareness events over the past year. This included once again participating in the annual Fort Saskatchewan Legacy Park Family Festival. KidSport Fort Saskatchewan also held its first annual Pub Night and Silent Auction, which was highly successful thanks to the overwhelming support of the local community and the tremendous efforts of the committee. The event sold out and combined with the silent auction raised over $5200.

Over the years KidSport Fort Saskatchewan has been fortunate to receive excellent support from a number of local businesses and citizens. This includes Fort Saskatchewan raised NHL player Joffrey Lupul who continues to donate $100 per goal to KidSport.

2009 also represented a significant milestone for a couple of KidSport Fort Saskatchewan volunteers as both Janice Lupul and Ken Shand marked 10 years of volunteer service with KidSport. Janice and Ken, along with long-time volunteers Bill Quinton, Erin Gott, Karen Brassard, and newcomer Shane Eastman have been instrumental in the success of the KidSport program in Fort Saskatchewan.
